The Gift of Insomnia

Star light, star bright, First star I see tonight, I wish I may, I wish I might, Have this wish I wish tonight.
Star light, star bright, First star I see tonight, I wish I may, I wish I might, Have this wish I wish tonight.

You may find yourself tossing and turning in bed - I think of this as a sign that the soul aspect wants to have a chat with you and can't get an appointment during the busyness of the typical human day! The best way to let it know that you're available is to get up and go outside and look up at the night sky. The moon and stars want to gift you their light as much as the sun does - it is after all the yin to the yang of this precious life. If we neglect this "other half" of our existence, it will call us and beg us to remember the true reason for our daily lives - otherwise the inner marriage within will surely fail and end up in divorce and a broken life.

Yet how do we respond to this situation that has been labelled "Insomnia"? Maybe go to the doctor and tell them there is something 'wrong' with us, that we need medication, or use other forms of self-medication: alcohol, screens, food, all in an attempt to avoid the tossing and turning and instead going outside to aid us in turning inward to the place of forgotten dreams.

If life has got you down, then please go out and LOOK UP

Its amazing what you might discover and remember about your own existence.
